"I am fully confident that my struggle for the repeal of AFSPA will be successful, but I need support of all people", Sharmila added.
A large number of Sharmila' supporters came to the airport to see off her.
Meanwhile, President Thounaojam Chaoba, Dr RK Ranjan and other important functionaries of BJP Manipur Pradesh met Sharmila at Manipur Bhavan upon her arrival in New Delhi this evening.
She conveyed her desire to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the leaders of BJP Manipur Pradesh.
However, her meeting with Modi is unlikely as the new Prime Minister is currently busy meeting the visiting SAARC leaders.
The State BJP leaders assured Sharmila that they could make an arrangement to meet PM Modi if she could stay back in New Delhi for few more days.
Sharmila also handed over a bunch of English poems written by her to the BJP leaders for presenting them to Narendra Modi.
