COHSEM to organise month long skill workshop for teachers

Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) Chairman has conveyed that a special workshop will be conducted for higher education teachers at 15 different centres/schools located at every nook and corner of the State, with an objective to encourage the teachers and to enhance their zeal to nurture students and guide them to be responsible and successful human beings in their lives.
Speaking to media persons at the office of COHSEM in Babupara today, Chairman L Mahendrn stated that necessary preparations have been made to conduct the month-long workshop, which will begin on October 1.For Imphal West, he said, the workshop will be organised at Model Higher Secondary School, Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School.
The workshop will also be held at CC Higher Secondary School, Imphal East, Bishnupur Higher Secondary School, Maha Union Higher Secondary School Chandel district, Moreh Higher Secondary School, Tengnoupal district, Rengkai Government Higher Secondary School CCpur, Kakching Higher Secondary School, Koti College Kangpokpi, Lao Radiant School Karong Senapati, Tengkonjang Higher Secondary School , Noney, Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School Thoubal, Ukhrul Higher Secondary School and Jiribam Higher Secondary School, he informed.
Stating that the Chief Minister and Education Minister have announced and successfully taken up various initiatives for the welfare of schools, teachers and students, L Mohendro added that the workshop will encourage the teachers and students to have a healthy competition towards bringing an educated and a responsible society.
He maintained that it is necessary for teachers to keep evaluation, paper setting in practical and the ethics of teaching in balance.
Mahendra added that apart from sensitizing the teachers about the changing syllabus and curriculum, it is also important for the teachers to utilize the tools and techniques of the Council, through the teachings and learning experience, at classrooms.
The Council believes that teachers, through such academic programme, will be able to effectively adopt new techniques which will in turn help the students, their grades and their moral values and the institute as well, he said.
Mahendra informed that numerous teachers/lecturers undergo refreshment courses and other similar workshop which is quite an important academic exercise.
He appealed all higher secondary teachers to attend the workshop and to grab the opportunity.
