Students warn to shut down college until MU teachers & students are released

Imphal, September 24 2018:
Demanding the State Government to release the arrested students and teachers of Manipur University, students of Imphal College burnt the effigies of Chief Minister N Biren and Vice Chancellor, Manipur University Professor K Yugindro today.
Taking out a protest rally towards Keishampat Hodam Leirak area, the students shouted slogans demanding resignation of the Chief Minister.
Later, they formed a human chain in front of the college.
Meanwhile, Manipur Students Front general secretary Khagembam Tanzania said the student community will continue its agitation until the State Government release the arrested individuals unconditionally.
He warned that the students will be compelled, to shut down Imphal College if their demands are not met within two to three days.
In another incident, students of Manipur College Singjamei tried to burn the effigies of CM, Education Minister and VC Prof Yugindro.
However, the situation was put under control by police.
