The District Administration and ICDS Cell of Senapati in collaboration with the NYK, Senapati observed the International Women's Day and concluded the Open Choir Competition at Multipurpose Hall today under the theme "Choose the Challenge".
Addressing the programme, LD Chasiiro, District Programme Officer, ICDS Cell, Senapati stated that "International Women's Day" has been celebrated all over the country under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls.
It was attended by A Adahrii Maheo, MCS, Additional District Magistrate, Senapati along with DLOs, CSOs, students and church leaders.
The Open Choir Competition was participated by 9 choirs, in which Poumai Baptist Church, Pouvapai, Emesiiphro Women Society and Kavanam Baptist Church took first, second and third positions.
42 girls also received certificates of appreciation and cash rewards for their excellent achievement in the field of education and sports.
The Women's Cell of Don Bosco College (Autonomous), also celebrated the International Women's Day with the theme, "Choose to Challenge" under the leadership of Cecilia, Coordinator of Women's Cell.
Sr Dr Bindu Thomas CCV, HoD Chemistry Department attended the programme as the resource person.
CHURACHANDPUR
District Administration Churachandpur also observed International Women's Day with the theme 'Choose to Challenge' at Tuibong Peace Ground, Churachandpur.
It was attended by Mimi Khaute; Mannuamching, DC Pherzawl; Reeta Yadav, Deputy Director, MSME-DI, Government of India; Esther Laltankim Serto, IFS, DFO Churachandpur; Th Baite, Director, MSME-DI, Government of India; PawanYadav, DC Churachandpur; Janggoulen Haokip, CJM, Churachandpur; Thangboi Gangte, MCS, ADC I DC Office Churachandpur; SDOs and DLOs.
UKHRUL
Former National Women Commission (NCW) member, Soso Shaiza today inaugurated the celebration of International Women's Day as the chief guest of the function organized by District Administration Ukhrul at DRDA Hall, Mini Secretariat Hamleikhong Ukhrul.
Deputy Commissioner Ukhrul, Joseph Pauline Kamson along with local women activists, Tangkhul CSO leaders, SDOs and staff of the Social Welfare Department attended the programme.
As a part of the programme, a local women, Yuimi Vashum was also feted as recognition for her book on the fight against sexual abuse.
CHANDEL
International Women's Day was also celebrated at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chandel with the theme "Women Leadership in Agriculture: Entrepreneurship, Equity and Empowerment" today.
It was attended by Ts Gladney Monsang, District Agriculture Officer, Chandel and Ng Barbara, president Women Development Society, Monsang Pantha village as presidium members.
Dr Kl Levish Chongloi, SMS (Agronomy) and Dr Y Prabhabati Devi, SMS (Home Science) moderated the function.
During the programme, exhibitions of farm produced and value added products of the women entrepreneurs under KVK Chandel were displayed.
NONEY
The Anganwadi workers, helpers, ASHA workers, street vendors, women organisation, union and women association of Noney under the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Manipur State also observed International Women's Day by staging a peace rally at Longmai Bazaar today.
THOUBAL
Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal in collaboration with Council for Advancement of Rural Development (CARD) also observed International Women's Day at CARD, Thoubal Kshetri Leikai today.
International Women's Day was also observed by Kshetri leikai Women Development Association and SECDO at SECDO ground in Thoubal Kshetri leikai.
Retired District Leprbsy Officer Thoubal, Dr Ch Renu; Kshetri leikai Women Development Association president, N Sumo Devi and retired Assistant Professor of WMGC, Kh Ruhi attended the programme as presidium members.

International Women's Day was also celebrated with the theme "Women's Leadership in Agriculture: Entrepreneurship, Equity and Empowerment" at the Conference hall of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bishnupur district, Utlou, today.
