Imphal, March 03 2016:
Referring to certain media reports about the failure of the 60 MLAs of the State to take up the issue of the killing of Ch Sanjit during the ongoing Assembly session, MLA L Ibomcha today clarified during zero hour that he has been refraining from raising the issue as the issue is pending in Court while the House is unlikely to admit the issue.
Pointing out that the media reports alleged that the MLAs were hankering after contract works, Ibomcha maintained that he never sought any contract work for himself even though he wrote seeking contract works for some of his workers.
"But no contract works were given in response to my letter", he clarified.
MLA Kh Joykishan sought attention of the Home Minister regarding the recent spate of violence against women in the State.
Citing media reports about the likelihood of losing 1000 sq Kms of Manipur's territory to Myanmar on account of border fencing, he urged the Government to study the issue seriously and intervene promptly.
