K Geljang village gets new Primary school

Kanggui, September 14 2013 :
The newly set up Kangchup Geljang Govt.Primary School under the Deputy Inspector of Schools, Saitu-Gamphajol, Sadar Hills was inaugurated at K Geljang village today.
The inaugural function of the primary school was attended by Ngamthang Haokip, Minister of IFC, Printing & Stationery, Govt.of Manipur as Chief Guest while Thangcha SK.
Vaiphei, Circle MDC and Seikholet Singsit, DI/DDO, Saitu Gamphajol attended as Functional President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Students of K.Geljang Primary School sung the welcome song while Lalminlen Kipgen, Chief of K.Geljang presented one Kuki traditional shawl each to the guests.
School uniforms were also distributed to the students by the Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ngamthang Haokip observed that development can come only through unity, peace and harmony.
Highlighting various developmental programmes to be taken in Kangchup areas, the Minister said that successful implementation of these developmental programmes would require the fullest cooperation and support of the peoples living in the areas irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
The Minister assured that Singda Dam will be renovated and beautified very soon so that everyone in the state can feel the real beauty of it.
The beautification of the dam has already been started along with planting Gulmohor saplings around the dam area.
More than seventy thousand saplings have been planted so far and the plantation work is in progress.
More than one lakh saplings will be planted, the Minister said.
The Minister further assured that a branch of State Bank of India would be installed at K.Geljang village for the convenience of the people very soon.
An SDO office will also be set up at K.Geljang Village while the present Police Station at Kangchup would be upgraded soon.
Thangcha SK.Vaiphei, circle MDC lamented that no IFC Minister in the past had ever visited Singda Dam twice in a year and no beautification or development works of the dam carried out.
But the present IFC Minister has been making a point to visit at least once in a week visit and plan out various beautification and development works of the dam area.
He assured the Minister that the people would be extending every possible cooperation and support from their side toward ensuring the success of all the plans that have been worked out for the development of Kangchup area.
Seikholet Singsit, DI/DDO Saitu-Gamphajol pointed out that since Sept last year, five Govt.Jr High Schools under Saitu-Gamphajol have been upgraded to High School level while four Govt.Primary School have been upgraded to Govt.Jr.
High School.
Moreover, 18 EGS Centres have been upgraded to Govt.Primary School and the K.Geljang Govt.Primary School which was inaugurated today is one among them, he said, while informing that a total of 15 EGS Centres have been set up within Saitu Gamphajol block.
