Mortal remains of victims flown away

The mortal remains of all the nine construction workers from Assam who lost their lives in the last night's bomb attack at their makeshift shed constructed over Naga Nullah at Khuyathong under Imphal West district have been flown to their respective homes by an Indian Airlines plane after post-mortem examination at RIMS Hospital today.
Meanwhile, while announcing Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia each to the next of kin of the nine deceased, financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to the grievous injured ones and Rs 10,000 each to the minor injury sufferers, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has strongly condemned the bomb attack describing it as inhuman and cowardly act.
In a statement issued by N Ashok Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Ibobi said that his Government has viewed this attack on the migrant workers very seriously and those responsible for this criminal action will not be spared and taken to task as per the law of the land at the earliest.
The Government of Manipur shares the grief and pain of the bereaved family members, he added.
All the nine slain construction workers have been identified as Asmad Ali (24) s/o Ango Ali, Arafat Ali (23) s/o Ahamad Dulak, Abjal Haque (24) s/o Md Malikuddin, Md Tajuddin Ali (24) s/o Zaher Ali, Sabul Haque (25) s/o Akbar Ali, Md Zahir Hussain (24) s/o Alkesh Ali, Md Mufiz Ali (23) s/o Md Khaden Ali, Md Mubarak Ali (24) and Md Motibur Ali (25) s/o Tansen Ali.
All of them hailed from Dekachung Bazar, Kamrup under Jawkata district of Assam.
Since all of them were engaged and brought to Imphal by one Narayan Lanya of Simplex Project Limited in connection with the construction works taking place at Imphal, police entrusted the responsibility of taking the mortal remains of the deceased migrant workers to their respective families to Narayan himself.
Out of the 11 persons who sustained injuries in the bomb blast, some of them are undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital while some others in JNIMS and Shija Hospitals, where the condition of two of them is said to be still critical.
