Migrant workers killed in blast : Govt extends ex-gratia to victims

The State Government has announced ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each for all the people killed in last night's bomb blast at Nagama-pal.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister's Secretary N Ashokumar announced that ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh would be given to each of the nine victims killed in the blast.
Moreover, those who sustained critical injuries would be given Rs 50,000 each and those with minor injuries will be given Rs 10,000 each.
On the other hand, Chief Minister O Ibobi has condemned the bomb blast in the strongest term.
The Chief Minister termed it bestial and dastardly.
The State Government is deeply conc erned with the attack and the perpetrators would not go unpunished.
Taking serious note of the bomb attack, non-local labourers scattered in different pockets of Imphal have been housed together at Dharam-sala.
Moreover, security measures around Imphal city have been stepped up, informed a high ranking police officer.
Police recovered one lever of hand grenade from the blast site today.
It is said that the explosive used in yesterday's attack might be a new type of hand grenade, a little bigger than the conventional hand grenade.
Post mortem examination of all the nine people killed in the bomb blast was conduct-ed at RIMS mortuary today and the corpses were taken to Guwahati at 4.10 pm by air.
All slain victims belonged to Kamrup and Goalpara areas of Assam's Jawakata dis- trict under Nagarbera police station.
The victims have been identified as Assad Ali, Arafat Ali, Abdul Haque, Tejauddin Motibur Ali � all from Kamrup and Muphiz Ali, Jahir Hussain, Mubarak Ali and Sabul Haque from Goalpara.
