Music Centre for inmates opens at Sajiwa Jail

A Music Centre has been opened at Sajiwa Central Jail at Khabeisoi today.
The opening function of the Music Centre was attended by IK Muivah, Jail SP; Ningthoujam Nabachandra, former Director of Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; renown vocalist Naba Volcano and Yoga teacher Roshini as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Nabachandra said that music is an integral part of human beings.
The inmates of Sajiwa Central Jail can now relax and enjoy with music during their free time.
He also expressed happiness over the seeing the inmates of the jail living like a big family.
Naba Volcano assured of providing music classes to the inmates of Shajiwa Central Jail.
SP IK Muivah stated that medical check up of all the inmates in the jail is being conducted regularly.
The process of removing the tattoos from the bodies of the jail inmates has been considered and will be done in consultation with certain NGOs.
As of now, there are around 93 jail inmates who have willingly come up to remove their tattoos.
