JIMET kicks off 'Irabot Month' with social service programme

To mark the beginning of "Irabot Month", a social service programme was conducted at the Irabot Complex, Jiribam, led by Jana Neta Irabot Memorial Trust (JIMET) lifetime president Dr Chandam Kamal Singh today.
Irabot Month, which is observed annually with great pomp in Jiribam district, will be subdued this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
However, as part of the month long celebration, the death and birth anniversary of Irabot will be observed on September 26 and 30 respectively, in a simple function paying floral tribute to the great figure.
Taking part in today's programme, gen secy of Friendly Environmental Warriors (FEW), L Jiran stated that the members of FEW took part in the social service work to extend support to JIMET in connection with Irabot Month and assured that it will continue to show its support towards future events organised by JIMET.
Speaking on the occasion, lifetime president of JIMET, Dr Chandam Kamal expressed that Irabot Month was kicked off today with the help of FEW and JIMET members.
JIMET has been observing 'Irabot Month' in September since many years by conducting different programmes in connection to it, but only the death and birth anniversary of Irabot will be observed this year,
he added.
