Imphal, September 01 2020:
Out of the six ex-MLAs who resigned from Congress and went to Delhi along with Chief Minister N Biren on August 16, five are still camping at Delhi awaiting an appointment with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
But ex-MLA Abdul Nasir is not with them and they are not in contact with their colleague who represented Lilong AC .
The five ex-MLAs have been waiting for discharge of Amit Shah from hospital so that they can hold a meeting with him.
Sources informed that they may get an appointment with the Union Home Minister tomorrow evening.
As soon as the appointment is confirmed, Chief Minister N Biren would leave Imphal for Delhi.
However, it is not clear whether Abdul Nasir would accompany the Chief Minister as and when the latter leaves for Delhi, said the sources.
Granting of BJP tickets to the ex-MLAs who resigned from Congress for the forthcoming by-election would be the main agenda of the meeting with Amit Shah which is yet to be confirmed, according to the sources.
It could not be confirmed as yet whether Abdul Nasir would join BJP or not.
He has been maintaining that he would first consult the public leaders and people of Lilong AC before taking a final decision on whether he should join BJP or not.
Of the six MLAs who resigned from Congress party as well as from being Members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, five have already joined BJP barring Abdul Nasir.
After their resignation from Congress party, the six ex-MLAs went to Delhi together with Chief Minister N Biren on August 16 to hold meetings with BJP Central leaders.
Even though they met some BJP Central leaders including BJP National president JP Nadda along with N Biren, they could not meet Union Home Minister as he was then hospitalised.
As the ex-MLAs were awaiting an appointment with Amit Shah, N Biren left for Imphal saying that he would come back to Delhi when the appointment with Amit Shah is confirmed.
