Works for expansion of NH 102B begin

Works for expansion of National Highway (NH-102B) Guite Road have started with 5 companies now trenching their camps along the 143 kilometres stretch.
Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur district, Pawan Yadav along with Assistant Commissioner Khaikhopau Ngaihte and Jameson Sehlal Hangshing SDO/m Singngat visited the worksites today.
The team while visiting the package 2A-Singngat to C Tuiveljang (15.76 km) taken up by Bharat Vanjiya Eastern Private Limited, said the road expansion work is targeted to be completed before the onset of next monsoon.
They also claimed that processes for compensation are also in the final stage.
Payment/compensation is like to begin in the next 15 days, they added.
The 143 kilometres long stretch connecting Churachandpur to Mizoram was recently constructed under a rehabilitation scheme.
With the stretch now upgraded to a full fledged National Highway status and named NH 102B, the road will be expanded to 14 metres from the rehabilitated works.
The road's thickness will be 22 inches.
The construction works is being taken up by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), Government of India.
