Students protest

Students of Dhanamanjuri College of Arts, Science and Commerce today came out of their classes and staged a protest by placing twigs and other objects in the middle of the road today noon demanding immediate repair of the dilapidated roads inside the college campus.
Speaking to media persons, Yambem Ranjan, general secretary of DM College Science said that the protest was carried out by students of three Dhanamanjuri Colleges under the aegis of Joint Students Union, DM College.
He said that repeated appeals have been made to the authority concerned for repairing the dilapidated roads within the college campus.
JSUDMC representatives were assured by the Education Minister personally to repair the roads during a meeting recently, he said.
But no action has been taken up towards this end till date, Ranjan said.
He further said that not a single vehicle will be allowed to enter the college campus from tomorrow onward and all the students of Arts, Science and Commerce will start class boycott from tomorrow onward until their demand to repair the roads inside the college campus is met.
