State karatekas bag 19 medals

Imphal, February 23 2015:
State karatekas of Kangleisa Budokan have clinched 19 medals consisting 4 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze in the 12th All India Open Karate Championship 2015 (Highpower Karate Cup) jointly organised by Visakha Budokan Karate Association (VBKA), Martial Arts Association of India (MAAI) and Andhra Pradesh Sports Karate Do Association under the auspices of All India Budokan Karate Federation and United World Karate India.
U Prithinganbi (35-40 kg sub-junior girl's kumite), M Kabita (45 kg sub-junior girl's kumite), H Kamaljit (50 kg senior men's kumite) and H Rangeeta (35-40 kg sub-junior girl's kumite) clinched gold in their respective events.
U Malemnganbi claimed a silver in the 50 kg senior women's kumite event), H Lanchenba bagged a silver medal each in the U-8 sub junior boy's kata and kumite events, N Tarunkumar took a silver medal in the sub-junior boy's under 29 kg kumite event, H Managnleibi secured two silver medal in the sub-junior girl's under 35 kg kumite and kata events and H Rangeeta won a silver in the U-8 sub-junior girl's kata event.
U Pritihinganbi, Kh Yuremba, K Orbit, Rk Thoithoi, N Dinesh, K Udoi, N Santosh and M Somorjit bagged a bronze each in the kumite and kata events.
Altogether 28 State karatekas participated in the championship.
Ak Chandrajeet represented as the team manager in the championship.
