Training for ASHA facilitators held

Imphal, February 23 2015:
The third round of modules 6/7 training for ASHA facilitators organised by National Health Mission, Manipur was set into motion today at Modern College.
Speaking at the occasion, Medical Director, Dr O Ibomcha stressing the role of ASHAs said they play an important role in checking the infant mortality rate.

He said the training will focus on child survival and child care.
Asserting that sick new born care units will be set up soon, Dr Ibomcha further said that radios will be provided to all ASHAs and inactive ASHAs will be terminated.
He further said that the department has opened district unit cells to contain Swine Flu and added that 102 ambulances are fully functional.
