Miranda Thoudam : State girl shines

Miranda Thoudam of Sainik School Imphal made the State and her school proud by bagging a place among the nine prize winners and securing second position in the National Science Seminar 2011 organised by National Council of Museums at National Science Center, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi today.
Daughters of employees of Sainik School, Imphal are allowed to study in the school and Miranda's father is the Mess Manager of the school.
According to a press release issued by PIB (DW), a total of 34 students participated representing various States and Union Territories in the competition, out of which 10 participants were selected to visit Madam Curie's Residence and Lab for experiments in Poland next year.
In the National Science Seminar, Miranda Thoudam represented Manipur as she secured the first position in the State Level Science Seminar held at GM Hall, Imphal last month.
She was awarded with certificates, a memento, books and a cash prize of Rs 12,000, the release added.
