Alleging that the Governor of Manipur is sitting back and silently watching the economic blockade and counter economic blockade spearheaded by SHDDC and ANSAM on all NHs of the state, MPP launched a hunger strike demanding the exit of the Governor from the state.
The one day hunger strike agitation launched by MPP at its office gate near Polo Ground kicked off with shouts of 'Go back Governor of Manipur' slogan by the agitators.
Dr Nimaichand Luwang, President, MPP, Ex-Minister Dr L Chandramani, Ex-MP Thounaojam Chaoba, office bearers of MPP, Youth Front President, Maniton and members of Chanura Marup participated in the agitation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nimaichand Luwang said that the economic blockade has almost crossed the 65th day.
The people of the state have been suffering a lot due the blockade.
The state government or the central government doesn't seem to care about the welfare of the people.
There has been no effort from the government's side to solve the blockade issue.
The central leaders are also staying mum on the issue so far.
It seems that the central government is all set to incite communal violence among the different communities of the state.
The party also demanded dismissal of the state government and imposition of PR, exit of the useless Governor from the state and use of paramilitary force for bringing in essential commodities to the state.
