Governor Gurbachan Jagat has greeted the people of the State on the occasion of the country's 60th Republic Day.
In his message the Governor said, "On this auspicious occasion of Republic Day, let all of us resolve to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in our Constitution and also to work united for making our country stronger and more prosperous".
Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen KS Yadava has also sent his Republic Day greetings from Shillong with prayers to Almighty for peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Manipur.
GOC 3 Corps, Lt Gen RK Loomba and GOC 57 Mountain Division Maj General Shakti Gurung have also extended their greetings on the occasion of Republic Day.
"May the State see a new era of peace and prosperity and may God bless all the citizens of Manipur," PIB Defence Wing quoted Maj Gen Gurung as saying.
IGAR (S) Maj Gen AK Choudhary and all ranks of Assam Rifles also extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion.
IGAR (S) sent his earnest message of peace, harmony, unity and understanding on the occasion.
The Major General said, "May all the goodwill and harmony bring together all of us towards peace and prosperity".
According to PIB (DW) Brig LN Singh from Manipur who is attending the National Defence College Course has been conferred the VSM for the second time this year.
He first received the award in 2002, added PIB.
