BSF AUTHORITIES today refuted UNLF claim on attack on the BSF as "was ambush" laid by the MPA stating that the firing took place in a crowded market with least concern to the precious lives of the locals by the undergrounds even as the dead bodies of the BSF personnel died in an ambush by a cadre of the MPA of UNLF have taken to their respective states today.
Mention may be made that at least two personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) killed while another injured in an ambush laid by the cadres of UNLF Saturday late evening at around 6 pm at a small market at Ethai Barrage in Bishnupur district.
The Manipur People's Army (MPA), an armed wing of the UNLF owned the ambush through the local media in Imphal.
One of the two died personnel named Sishram (42) son of Bhup hailing from Mahendragarh district of Medhya Pradesh while the other one hailed from Etah district of Uttar Pradesh named Shukdev (41) son of Rukmangal.
After postmortem at RIMS, the dead bodies have been delivered to their respective native villages for last rites today.
On the other hand BSF authority while condemning the firing incident of the banned UNLF narrated the sequence of the events leading to the incident said that two to three undergrounds in plain cloths attacked the BSF personnel unexpectedly and fled away taking cover and shield of the crowd that gathered in large numbers for shopping local produse at Ithai.
BSF maintained utmost restrain in retaliating the UG�s firing to avoid civilian casualty, it said.
