Teachers' mass casual leave cripples normal classes at Ukhrul; KDTA joins protest

Normal classes in all Government schools of Ukhrul have been crippled due to mass casual leave taken up by the teachers against the infamous State Government ROP 2019 forthe teaching community.
Speaking to this correspondent, president of Ukhrul District Teachers' Welfare Association (UDTWA) Wungnaoshang expressed that the Government schools' teachers of Ukhrul district inclusive of all (primary, high school and higher secondary) support the resolution taken up during the joint meeting of All Manipur Primary Teachers Association (AMPTA), Graduate Teachers Association (GTA) and Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association (MGHSLWA).
All teachers have abstain from attending schools by taking mass casual leave.
Principal of Ukhrul Hr Sec School, Mercy Keishing stated that the normal class was today suspended, although the students attended the class, due to non availability of teachers in the school.
A similar case was also reported from Model High School, Alungtang Ukhrul.
The Headmistress of the school, Phungnanla informed that the examination of the school has been postponed indefinitely owing to teachers mass casual leave.
Meanwhile, all teachers working under the Education(s) within Kangpokpi District under the aegis of Kangpokpi District Teachers' Association (KDTA) extended full support to the demand of Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) and participated the mass casual leave stir since Saturday.
It may mentioned that the smooth functioning of all schools under ZEO Kangpokpi were affected as the teachers joined the mass casual leave.
Seikholen Singsit, general secretary, KDTA said that with reference to Manipur Services (Revised Pay) 2019 order No.l/10/2018-FD dated July 11 last regarding the adoption of the 7th Central Revised Pay.
As per the present stand spearheaded by COTA against the proper implementation and justification of the ROP-2019, KDTA also resolved to extend cooperation and assistance to COTA in quest of proper adoption and implementation of ROP-2019 at the earliest, he added.
He also said that with the decision to extend cooperation and support to COTA, all employees of Education(s) under ZEO Kangpokpi have stand in unity.
The Kangpokpi District Teachers' Association then urged the State Government to look into the matters for the welfare of the teaching community.
