KSDC suspends stir temporarily

The indefinite 'public blockade' carried out by Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) since January 24 has been called off from 5 pm today following an understanding with the State Government.
A delegation of KSDC met Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh at the latter's office chamber today.
The KSDC delegation, however, refused to divulge details of the 'understanding' reached with the Government apart from maintaining that the meeting with the Chief Minister today was positive.
The delegation of KSDC which met the Chief Minister included Hejang Haokip, Chairman; Thangboi, Vice Chairman, K Khongsai, Spokesperson and an executive member.
There were no other representatives of the State Government except the CM during the meeting.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, the delegates of KSDC who met the Chief Minister informed that the today's meeting minutely discussed the various demands made by KSDC to the State Government.
The meeting, which commenced from 10 am today and lasted till 11:30 am, went very smoothly and positively.
Accordingly, KSDC decided to relax the public blockade called by KSDC since January 24 for some time.
They also informed that during the meeting KSDC impressed upon the Chief Minister to put into action the assurance given over initiation of political dialogue between the Kuki UG groups and the Union Government.
