Imphal, January 28 2013:
A one-day seminar on Anganghal's Literature in Contemporary Relevance was held today at Rupmahal Theatre, BT Road to mark the concluding ceremony of Mahakavi Hijam Anganghal Singh's 120th Birth Anniversary observance.
The seminar was jointly organised by the Art and Culture dept, Govt of Manipur and Tungee Yaifanaba Shemba Kanglup, Samurou Keithel.
MLA RK Anand; Prof P Nabachandra Singh, Dean of Humanities, MU; M Thoiba Singh, secretary LMEHSS, Samurou and Dr K Sobita Devi graced the programme as the chief guest, guests of honour and president respectively.

Paying floral tribute to Mahakavi Hijam Anganghal, release of anniversary souvenir, recitation of a poem, 'Anganghal' by Sub L Kunjeshwar Sharma and delivery of a talk by Sharatchand Thiyam marked the occasion besides felicitating eminent writer Rajen Khumukcham.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA RK Anand said that the contributions of Mahakavi Hijam Anganghal are worth cherishing.
He urged all concerned to encourage promising writers in order to nurture their talents.
Prof N Tombi Singh, Vice-chairman of JNMDA moderated the technical session while Prof Soram Sanatombi of MU's Manipuri dept; Dr M Priyobrata of DMCA; S Bhuvan, secretary of CFM and Dr Kh Gokulchandra of DMCA delivered a speech each.
