Poetry, short story reading session organised

'Ningtham gi Khonjel', a short story and poetry reading session was held today jointly organised by Iramdam Meeyamgi Apunba Khorjei Lup (IMAKHOL) and Iramdam Khorjei Apunba Lup (IKHAL).
The programme was held at the residence of renowned writer and Sahitya Akademi awardee, Maibam Nabakishore at Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai, said a press release by IMAKHOL.
Dr Rajkumar Gunachandra, president of IMAKHOL and Maibam Nabakishore presided over the event.
Addressing the gathering, secretary of IMAKHOL, Wahengbam Romen Meitei said that today's programme has been organised with an aim to promote the status of poems and short stories in Manipuri literature.
Further it is aimed at producing valuable piece of literature by identifying valuable literary works of the writers of the State, he added.
He also emphasized on the need to encourage the writers of the State to ensure that Manipuri literature reaches new heights.
In today's programme, four members of IMAKHOL and IKHAL read out short stories and twenty six members read out poems, added the press release.
