Catch the rain campaign continues

Thoubal, January 09 2022:
Stepping into the last legs of "Catch the rain campaign", Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal in association with Phouden Youth Club on Sunday cleaned a public pond at Thoubal Wangkhem and conducted a Slogan Writing Competition at Sapam Khongjom.
The programme was conducted as part of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan jointly organised by National Water Mission under the Ministry of Jal Shakti and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan under Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, said a release issued by NYK Thoubal.
As part of the programme, youths of Wangkhem and Phouden also took a pledge on ethical voting and signed a Democracy Wall to vote without fear and favour as part of SVEEP-signature campaign.

The Slogan Writing Competition was organised on the theme, "Rainwater Harvesting & Water Conservation'' .
Moreover, a painting competition on the same theme was also conducted recently on January 7 by NYK Thoubal volunteers at Wangoo Tera, Kakching.
Essay writing competition followed by a rally to spread awareness on 'Rainwater Harvesting' as part of Catch the rain campaign was also organised on January 6 at Salungpham, Thoubal with Salungpham Youth Association.
It may be mentioned that the "Catch the rain campaign" was launched in October 2021 and multiple training programmes for youths, water pledges, poster campaigns, competitions, demonstrations, etc have been conducted so far in various parts of Thoubal and Kakching districts.
