Ukhrul, June 20 2016:
Although the Ukhrul District Teacher Welfare Association' (UDTWA) had been persistently pursuing with
its demand for equal pay structure for all primary teachers of the
State, primary teachers appointed under Autonomous District
Council (ADC) has been deprived of right to equal pay, UDTWA
has alleged.
Speaking to this correspondent UDTWA president LAW
Ashang said there is a huge difference in the pay structure
between primary teachers appointed in 2010 under ADC,
Ukhrul and SSA primary teachers.
According to him as per the latest pay structure by the State
Education Department ROP, primary teachers under ADC
receives a sum of Rs 26,977 as total emolument while Edu-
cation (s) and SSA primary teachers get Rs 32,908 and Rs
31,993 respectively even though the ADC primary teachers
were appointed one year earlier than them.
The UDTWA seeing this huge variation has appealed the
State Government to look into the matter and address the
grievances of the teachers.
It further urged the department
concerned to review the pay structure of ADC primary teach-
ers so they can enjoy equal pay scale.
