Tripartite meeting over Mizo refugees

Rehabilitation for various Mizo refugees in Tripura was mooted at a tripartite meeting held today in Tripura's New Secretariat Conference Hall between Centre, Mizoram and Tripura state.
Ministry of Home Affairs, government of India Joint Secretary in-charge of North East Sambhu Singh represented the Centre while Home Secretary K Riachho from the Mizoram and Principal Secretary Revenue & Rehabilitation G.K.Rao from Tripura government had an in-depth meeting today and agreed on rehabilitating of Mizo refugess languishing across Sakhan region in Tripura.
A total of 83 Mizo families had rendered homeless and stayed as refugees in Mizoram and Tripura state since 2009 due to ethnic violence broke out after the brutal killing of Zarzokima (18) at Bungthuam, near Tripura border, in Mizoram by a little known militant outfit - Bru National Army (BNA) on November 12, 2009 .
In today's meeting, it was agreed that 32 Mizo families who were in Jampui Hills will be rehabilitated by the Tripura government while 51 families who are in Mizoram since 2009 will be rehabilitated by the Mizoram government.
