Expressing that some individuals had been relentlessly working to sow the seeds of hatred and terming the killing of Dr Kishan, Token and Rajen as a fallout of the sinister campaign, RK Nimai said only due to maturity of the public and their determination to foil devilish intention of certain groups of people the brutal murder of the three did not snowball to a communal flare-up.
Noting that the tribal people have been accusing the majority community for their poor economic status and alleged hegemony, the chief guest suggested that the tribal people introspect what leaders of their own tribe have done for them.
RK Nimai also opined that need of the hour for the tribal people are young and sincere leaders who would effectively implement various welfare programmes and for the majority Meiteis to be prepared for more sacrifices in order to facilitate an egalitarian society flourish in Manipur.
As a guest of honour, senior advocate Khaidem Mani emphasised that solution to any issue need to be pursued in the Court of law.
Recounting that various JACs on diverse issues had been formed but such bodies gradually dissipated without serving its real purpose, Mani expressed confidence that the case of murder of Dr Kishan, Token and Rajen would reach its logical end if the JAC works in sync with legal experts.
While JAC chairman S Tikendrajit Singh attended the observance as functional president, member of Senior Citizens for Society L Sadananda Singh and All Manipur Working Journalists' Union president A Mobi were the other guests of honour.
