Nute Kailhang has become buzzword in Kpi town

Kangpokpi, September 24 2018: After Zalaileng, a local weekly newspaper reported in its latest edition about the ongoing preparation of a two storey building 'Ima Keithel' locally called 'Nute Kailhang' at Kangpokpi DHQs to be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Biren on September26, the term 'Nute Kailhang' has become a buzzword in Kangpokpi town, report our correspondent.

Situated in the heart of Kangpokpi Town at downtown IT Road commercial area covered under the jurisdiction of Ward No 13, the Nute Kailhang, however, is yet to be completed as of now while hectic work has been underway day and night for the grand inauguration, it added.

Chief Minister, Nongthongbam Biren Singh, in a historic cabinet meeting at Senapati DHQs on April 16 told media persons that "Ima Market" at Senapati and Kangpokpi will be inaugurated in the month of June after inauguration of one "Ima Market" on April 24 at Ukhrul.

However, due to the onset of monsoon this year and other reasons best known by the Govt, his assurance is yet see light, added our correspondent.

Sources said that the inaugural of the market by the Chief Minister is yet to be ascertained from the Government side.

However, considering the hasty work at the market site and according to some workers, it has been, informed that Chief Minister is all set to inaugurate the building on September 26.While 'Nute Kailhang' at Kpi DHQs may not be the largest one among the Ima Markets constructed in the hill districts of the State by the BJP Government, it will definitely be the one of the finest market in terms of quality, looks and design.

The Nute (Ima) who boldly took up business profession despite of all odds by selling vegetables, cloths, local produce, etc so as to sustain the livelihood of their respective family were among the most excited one over the likely inauguration of Nute Kailhang.

A woman vegetable vendor at downtown IT road exclaimed, "Yes, woman vegetable vendors are more than prepared for the grand historic inauguration as it [Nute Kailhang] is like a second home and family".

Expressing her excitement to sit inside the Nute Kailhang while selling her vegetables, another woman vegetable vendor said that Nute Kailhang will not be just a market place but it will play a very special role among the women.

A prominent leader from the town said, "I usually visit the construction work and indeed felt very delighted to witness the quality maintained while constructing the foundation.

But the hasty construction work in the finishing part due to approaching inauguration date can be regretful in future".

Meanwhile, it is learnt that SP Kangpokpi has directed OC Kangpokpi to deploy a team of police at the beautifully constructed Nute Kailhang from September 20 till the completion of the construction work after it came to the notice of SP Kangpokpi that some troublemakers were loitering inside the newly constructed market at night and indulged in drinking and has also caused partial damage to the building.

The deployment of police at Nute Kailhang will be supervised by Addl SP (Ops) and SDPO Kangpokpi and will also patrol at night to thwart off the miscreants.
