Imphal, May 13 2019: Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) detained over 200 students from 50 different Higher Secondary Schools who allegedly used fraudulent documents/certificates for admission.

Speaking to media persons at Kwakeithel today, AIMS president Yumnam Rajesh has warned that the detained students, who have given their class XI examination, will not be allowed to continue their studies.

He maintained that, during a course of inspection, AIMS found out that forged documents and certificates for 200 students were found at 50 different higher secondary schools which is highly unacceptable and rather unfortunate.

The president stated that the certificates seized during the inspection showed that they were issued by Assam Sanskrit Board while each certificate has shown no sign of similarity with one another including the seal, signature etc.

Errors were found in the mark tabulation of both the theory and practical papers, he added.

Assam Sanskrit Board is a recognised board under CBSE but most of the documents issued by this board is wrong, Rajesh alleged.

He went on to state that those students who received the correct and genuine certificates under this board should be allowed admission at the eligible council, board or university adding that their academic career should be saved.

Maintaining that there is an unknown gang of miscreants who take education as a means of business by forging such certificates/documents, he added that Assam Sanskrit Board has been renamed as Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University.

Numerous certificates are being forged in the name of the Assam Sanskrit Board by the unknown gang and the very same fraudulent certificates are used for admission at higher secondary schools since the past few years.

On the other hand, Rajesh has questioned how the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) has issued the eligibility certificates to those students who submitted such forged documents and completed the class XI exam.

He claimed that COHSEM has withheld few students in the recently declared class XII examination on account of submitting fake certificates.

Rajesh remarked that the 200 students who were caught for submitting fake documents/certificates are in deep trouble adding that now, their academic future is unstable.

He then urged the need for the newly renamed board, COHSEM and BOSEM to come together and solve the matter at hand by conducting necessary enquiry and verification of the marksheet, certificate and other related documents which have been issued recently by the respective board.

Meanwhile, AIMS has warned the gang of miscreants to come clean and clarify to AIMS at the earliest.

Urging the State Govt and the authority concerned for an immediate intervention, he further assured that AIMS will do anything necessary to find the culprits while continue keeping a strict vigil to find out such forged certificates.

Rajesh has further warned that all the 200 students who have already sat for the class XI examination will not be allowed to continue their studies.
