Victims' families demand justice

The family members of the two women who were assaulted at Delhi on January while airing their their grievances have appealed to the authority concerned to book the culprits immediately and award them fitting punishment.
Meanwhile, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) or Tangkhul Students' Union has strongly condemned the Jan 24 incident of assaulting two women from the district at Kotla Mubarakpur, Delhi.
TKS president Yangmi Kapai today said that the recurrent racial discrimination on the North East people at mainland India shows Govt's apathy toward ending the ill.
He called upon the North East people to join and fight for justice together for the common interest of the people.
The Tangkhul Katamnao Long, Delhi (TKLD), at the same time, denounced the alleged callous attitude of the Delhi police in handling the case while also expressing serious concern over the alleged nature of treating the Northeasterners as second class citizens.
Alleging the Delhi police of refusing to file an FIR against the accused on Jan 24 the day the incident took place, TKLD spokesperson further alleged that concerned IO of the PS of delaying the process while strongly demanding the immediate suspension of the concerned IO.
TKLD president Thothuingam further informed this correspondent through phone that the next hearing in the case of AS Reingamphy is scheduled on March 4 at Delhi High Court.
Presently the Delhi Crime branch is monitoring the case.
In case of any irregularity and doubt to their investigation, it is liable to transfer the case to CBI after the report of march 4 hearing.
