Fire sub-station opened at Yairipok

A fire sub-station of the Manipur Fire Services was opened today at Yairipok in Thoubal district.
The inaugural function of the fire sub-station was graced by Parliamentary Secretary (IPR), Keisham Meghachandra; Chairperson of Yairipok Nagar Panchayat, Sagolsem (O) Ranjita and DIG (Range-II), Kh Chandramani, who is also the Director of Manipur Fire Services as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Along with the opening of the fire sub-station, an advanced fire tender and firemen/personnel have begun functioning.
Speaking at the function, K Meghachandra said that the opening of the sub-station will remain as a historic event for the people who yearn for the sub-station.
He said that the sub-station would be able to cover far-off places in Heirok, Andro ACs and other places.
He added that he would do the needful in consultation with the concerned authority to make the sub-station a permanent one.
DIG (Range-II) and Director of Fire Services, Kh Chandramani urged the people not to target firemen and tenders on ground of late arrival to fire scene.
The people should take into account the distance, the inconveniences of the firemen in fighting the fire before resorting to mob action.
