First ever K-1 event at Imphal a grand success

Imphal, February 03 2014:
The first ever "K-1 National Open Championship 2014" held at YAS Boxing Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Imphal successfully concluded today.
First K-1 fighters from Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Tripura, Jharkhand, Manipur put up excellent fights in the day-long event which was organized by Manipur K-1 Association (MK-1A) with sanction from K-1 Federation of India (K-1FI) under the direct patronage of the World Amateur K-1 Association (WAK-1F) .
In the 85 kg category of Senior Male Division, Partha Chatterjee from West Bengal won the Gold Medal, while A Geoffrey Nayak from Tamil Nadu won the Silver.
In the 75 kg category, P Kashmir Sahayaraj from Tamil Nadu won Gold by bye.
S Mahendra Kumar from Tamil Nadu won Gold Medal in the Senior Male Division of the 63.5 kg category while Aleang Haokip from Manipur won the Silver Medal.
In the Junior Male of 63.5 Kg, Th James Singh of Manipur defeated his rival David Johnson from Tripura and won Gold Medal while David Johnson got Silver Medal.
In Senior 51 kg category, Jacky Debbarma from Tripura won the Gold by bye.
In the Senior Male of 60 kg, H Naocha of Manipur won the Gold Medal while W Mangcha of Manipur clinched the Silver Medal.
In the Sub Junior of 35 Kg category, T Sanajaoba of Manipur won the Gold by bye and also A Tarun Kumar of Manipur in Senior Male of 67 kg category won the Gold by bye.
In another Sub Junior Male of 51 kg category, Okbram Anand of Manipur also won Gold Medal through bye.
In another Sub Junior Male of 40 kg category, T Lamjingba of Manipur won Gold Medal while S Daniel of Manipur won Silver.
In Junior Male of the 60 Kg category, Vivek Oinam of Manipur won Gold Medal by bye.
Both N Bishorchand in the Senior Male of 57 kg category and Th Nongamba of Manipur in Junior Male of 57 kg category won Gold Medals through bye.
In Senior Girl of 57 kg category, W Riyoma of Manipur won Gold Medal by bye and also Naorem Romola of Manipur won Gold Medal by bye.
In Junior Female of 48 kg category, Y Mirabai of Manipur won Gold Medal also through bye.
In Junior Male of 48 kg category, Ch Biju Singh of Manipur won Gold Medal while Khupkhanhao of Manipur won Silver Medal.
The first ever K-1 Officials who conducted this historic first ever K-1 National Open Championship 2014 at YAS Boxing Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Imphal included O Manglemjao, Rk Sarojvahan, K Pouphulung Kabui, H Ibohal Singh, Th Rajen Singh, Maitre Dr Tarun Kn Tekcham, Dr Amorsing Kabui, Nekholien Haokip, Khelen Chongtham, O Mangyamba, Th Akhuba Kabui, O Sanajaoba, Khomdram Ashokumar Singh, S Megha Sharma, S Samphaba Singh, P Nabachandra Singh, S Chaoba Singh, H Musuk, Kh Tomba, S Motilal Singh, T Tikendrajit.
The President of the K-1 South Asia and Honorary Chairman of K-1 Federation of India Oken Jeet Sandham supervised this first ever K-1 Open India Championship 2014 at Imphal while President of K-1 Federation of India Reagan K Sandham assisted in the officials' functioning.
