The Chief Minister N Biren Singh has today assured Rs 12 lakh aid for the six orphans of Kaimai village, Tamenglong District whose parents and their eldest sister are reportedly found drowned at Barak river on the last week of May.
Biren while describing the issue as purely humanitarian, said that the fate of the six minor siblings has thrown chills through his spine when he even thinks about them.
"I can feel and sense their pain", he said.
CM said that he has instructed the Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong to arrange Rs 2 lakh each for all six siblings which will be deposited at the bank as fixed deposits.

The government, he said, will also borne all expenses for the childrens' education till they attain Class XII.
The Chief Minister meanwhile paid a surprise visit to Sangga Muon Inn, an orphanage home run by Kuki Women Union at Tuibong, and have also assumed the responsibility of raising them.
It may be mentioned that late Mangliengou Singson along with his wife and eldest daughter have left their six children at home while collecting river snails from the river on May 29 .
They were found drowned by the villagers who went looking for them the next day after they failed to return home.
