With the installation of Coblator II Surgery System for the first time in Manipur, Raj Polyclinic has started conducting tonsil surgery from today.
Speaking at a press conference held at the hospital today, its General Manager Dinesh Ksh said the new technology prevents bleeding to a large extent and gives less pain to patients.
Dinesh said that the patients are generally discharged from the hospital after 24 hours under this new system of surgery.
Saying that the machine would prove beneficial to the patients of poor States like Manipur, Dinesh said that the entire surgery needs only around Rs 14,000 to Rs 20,000 .
He said that Dr SY Khan of CMRI Hospital, Kolkata, and Dr Bishwajit Gogoi of Prakash Hospital, Guwahati are currently supervising and imparting training on the new technology to the doctors of Raj Polyclinic.
An ENT camp would be conducted till tomorrow at the hospital, he added.
Dinesh claimed that the system has been installed at the hospital for the first time in Manipur.
