24th National Children's Science Congress

Under the aegis of NCSTC/DST, New Delhi and Department of Science and Technology, Government of Manipur, a three-day residential State level 24th National Children's Science Congress-2016 organised by Science Teachers' Forum Manipur and Slopeland Public School has kicked off at Slopeland Public School, Khongjom.
Uttam Chand Laishram, Director, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Manipur, Dr H Nandiram Sharma, president, Science Teacher's Forum, Manipur and Nahakpam Babulin,Principal, Slopeland Public School graced the opening programme as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Camp director Kshetri said that National Children's Science Congress (NCSC) is a nationwide science communication programme started in 1993 by National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi.
It is a congress for children between 10 and 17 years which aims to exhibit their creativity and innovativeness particularly their ability to solve a societal problem experienced locally by using a method of science, he added.
Altogether 74 project reports from all districts of Manipur will present in the State level congress.
10 students (5 each from junior and senior categories) have been selected from this congress.
They will represent the State in the 24th National Children's Science Congress scheduled to be held from December 27 to December 31 at Vidyapratisthan Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), Baramati, Maharashtra.
