State records 12 deaths, 928 new cases, 16.71 pc TPR
All victims unvaccinated, toll in iw nears 500, 39.87 pc of patients in home isolation

The state reported 12 fatalities and 928 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 5555 samples tested in the last 24-hour thus registering a test positivity rate of 16.71 per cent.
As per the government bulletin issued Thursday, the state witnessed a slight reduction from Wednesday's cases of 1327 new cases, 19.37 per cent positivity rate and 15 deaths.
Active caseload has reached 10,395 as on Thursday with 4145 (39.87 per cent) of the patients in home isolation.
So far, the state has recorded 59,578 positive cases and 286 death cases during the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month saw addition of 19,188 new cases and 286 fatalities out of which 7418 new cases and 96 fatalities were reported only in the last seven days.
The average positivity rate for the current month rose to 15.42 per cent from 15.36 per cent on Wednesday.
According to official reports, the 928 new cases included 921 people (466 male & 455 female) from among the general population and seven personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (49), JNIMS (142), District Hospitals (476) and other testing centres (261) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (256), Imphal West (284), Thoubal (54), Bishnupur (79), Kakching (55), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (102), Chandel (23), Senapati (11), Tamenglong (26), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (5), Noney (3), Pherzawl (2) and Kamjong (15).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 12 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no information was provided regarding the age and gender of the victims unlike the past when such details were shared.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (3), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2) and Kangpokpi (3).The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1436.None of the 12 victims were vaccinated and five of them did not have co-morbidities.
In the last 24 hours, 868 patients were discharged from home isolation (362), RIMS (6), JNIMS (15), CCCs (209) and CHICs (276) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 88,978 (general population - 85,017 and CAPF personnel - 3,961).Number of recovered cases is 77,147 (general population - 73,254 and CAPF personnel - 3,893) and number of active cases is 10,395 (general population - 10,332 and CAPF personnel - 63).The recovery rate is 86.70 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1644 D-type and 346 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
A total of 20,216 individuals were administered Covid vaccines on Wednesday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 9,79,896.However, only 1,31,242 people, which is 4.23 per cent of the total population of the state, received their second doses so far.
Meanwhile, 88 new positive cases were detected out of 511 samples tested in Kakching district from Wednesday 2 pm to Thursday 2 pm and registered a positivity rate of 17.22 per cent.
Four cases were detected at Ema Hospital, 13 at Jivan Hospital and 71 at different government RAT sites.
One case is from Bishnupur and one from Chandel district while the remaining 86 cases are residents of Kakching district.
As per DSO Kakching, the district has recorded 5057 total infected cases out of which 4120 have been discharged and 97 had died while the active caseload is 750 as of Thursday, 2 pm.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (30,391), Imphal East (19,844), Thoubal (7463), Churachandpur (7441), Kangpokpi (2136), Tamenglong (2563), Bishnupur (6183), Senapati (1631), Ukhrul (1632), Kakching (4943), Chandel (1566), Noney (708), Tengnoupal (890), Jiribam (885), Kamjong (532) and Pherzawl (170) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (494), Imphal East (349), Thoubal (131), Churachandpur (123), Kangpokpi (44), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (130), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (16), Kakching (86), Chandel (25), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (9), Jiribam (6), Kamjong (3), and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 28,675 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,441 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,30,784 tests per million population against the national average of 3,23,403 TPM.
Case fatality rate dipped to 1.61 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 5555 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 16.71 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 8.67 per cent.
