Kalapahar, Santolabari fully vaccinated villages in KPI

Kangpokpi, July 22 2021:
Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain under Kangpokpi assembly constituency have become the first villages to get fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in Kangpokpi district and the third in Manipur after Robve Solephe village in Senapati and Pearsonmun village in Churachandpur.
All eligible people living in 540 households under Kalapahar comprising five villages and 370 households under Santolabari Parsain comprising eight villages have been completely inoculated as on date.
The declaration of Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain as fully vaccinated villages was made on Thursday by local MLA Nemcha Kipgen in the presence of DC (Kangpokpi) Somorjit Salam, PHC Kalapahar MO Dr Pilhing, Santolabari Parsain CHO (Community Health Officer) Kimneilam Kipgen, vaccination in-charge of the district Thangtinlen Khongsai and Dr Thangboi of PHC Kalapahar apart from COVID Task Force Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain area.
Extensive vaccination drive had been carried in the past few months in Kalapahar and Santolabari area under the supervision of Dr Pilhing and Kimneilam Kipgen in collaboration with COVID Task Force of Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain as part of initiatives taken up by MLA Nemcha for containing the pandemic.
The MLA said that to get vaccinated all the eligible people under Kangpokpi AC extensive efforts have been made while seven COVID Task Forces had been constituted to work together with the medical department and the district administration.
She continued that hard work and sleepless effort has now been paid off by getting all eligible persons in Kalapahar covering five villages and Santolabari Parsain covering eight villages fully vaccinated up to the second dose.
While lauding the commitment and dedication of the medical team led by Dr Pilhing and Kimneilam Kipgen, the MLA also appreciated and acknowledged the immense contribution and struggles made by the COVID Task Force Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain for attaining the achievement.
The local MLA further urged the people of Kangpokpi AC who are yet to get vaccinated to get the vaccine as it has become the only tool to overcome the dreaded pandemic while appealing to all the other five COVID Task Forces to expedite the awareness on vaccination and get the villages under their respective area fully vaccinated at the earliest.
Deputy Commissioner So-morjit while lauding the contribution of the people of Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain in becoming fully vaccinated villages, appreciated the dedication and hard work of the medical team and CTF Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain.
He said that Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain were the first villages seeking vaccination among few others when hesitation for vaccination was at its peak.
He said that Charhajare village in Saitu AC will also be soon declared as a fully vaccinated village while adding that all these villages will be an inspiration for all other villages to get vaccinated.
COVID Task Force Kalap-ahar and Santolabari Parsain expressed sincere gratitude to Nemcha stating that the achievement for the fully vaccinated villages could happen because of the tireless and sincere commitment of the MLA while adding that she is the first MLA in the state providing free transportation for vaccination apart from providing food grains and other essential items to all non-cardholders.
They also thanked the MLA for personally visiting and monitoring the vaccination drive while conveying gratitude to the medical team especially Dr Pilhing and Kimneilam Kipgen for their selfless service towards the people.
