Imphal, September 21 2019:
Principal in-charge of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Kh Prafullo Singh, has appealed to the general public and CSOs to study the case of Ningthoujam Babysana from a logical viewpoint in the interest of justice instead of letting emotions cloud sane judgement.
A statement issued by the Principal in-charge clarified regarding the sentiment of the people that family members of the student were not allowed to enter the scene on the day of the unfortunate incident, by stating that the Additional SP concerned had made all the necessary clarification concerning this particular issue during a news talk show.
Regarding the statement made by a particular doctor during a public meeting concerning lack of any injuries on the hyoid bone of the deceased, the school authority explained that on July 30, a forensic doctor of JNIMS was quoted in a local daily mentioning that there were some cases of hanging in which the hyoid bone was found intact.
On the other hand, the school authority urged the authorities concerned as well as the forensic experts involved in the post mortem examination to clarify about the confusion surrounding the claims that the deceased had muddy or dirty feet, at the earliest.
Pointing towards a statement made by a woman during a sit-in protest organised by the JAC wherein she claimed that three students of the school (including Babysana) had died, the Principal in-charge explained that this is the first such unfortunate incident in the history of the school and demanded those concerned to give details of the other students who had allegedly died in the school.
The school authority then alleged that some people with vested interests have been spreading lies and rumours regarding the son of the Principal of the school on social media sites and added that these rumours have the potential to misguide the public.
It also pointed out that Babysana was 14 years old at the time of her death but the JAC and the family members used only childhood photos of the deceased which has the potential to confuse the people.
It continued that the school authority also wishes for the CBI to investigate and bring justice to the deceased at the earliest.
