Bandh affects normal life

Imphal, September 21 2019:
The 24 hours Statewide bandh imposed by the National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) in protest against Merger Agreement, which the then king of Manipur Maharaja Bodhachandra was allegedly forced to sign under duress on September 21, 1949, ended peacefully without any reports of untoward incident today.
The bandh hampered all form of business activities in Imphal city.
Major business centres in and around the State capital remained closed and all inter-district passenger services were suspended although a few private vehicles related with emergency service and religious activities were seen plying along roads.
Shops, oil pumps and cinema halls in and around Imphal city also remained shut.
Thangal Bazar, Paona Bazar, Khwairamband Bazaar, temporary market shed and the newly constructed temporary market all bore deserted looks and all private and Government schools and colleges were also closed.
