Teacher abducted

One teacher of the Lilong Higher Secondary School (Madrassa) has been ab-ducted by some unidentified persons invoking students to block Indo-Burma-Sugnu for about five minutes.
Speaking about the incident, the school's staff asso- ciation general secretary L Nabakumar said that English teacher Muhibur Reh- man (45) s/o Md Hamid Raja of Thoubal Moijing but staying at Hatta went out of the school after taking his class at about 11.55 am today.
Soon after, people of the locality informed that some unidentified persons have abducted Md Muhibur Rehman from near the oil pump located opposite to the school campus.
Saying that abduction of a school teacher from the vicinity of the school is bar- barous, Nabakumar appeal-ed for safe release of Muhi- bur at the earliest.
One Md Nashir Khan, a student of the school questioned the motive behind the abduction of their teacher.
He also appealed for immediate release of the tea- cher on humanitarian ground and in the interest of student community.
In case the teacher is not set free by tomorrow, all kinds of agitation including blockade on Indo-Burma-Sugnu road would be laun- ched, he added.
