Chandel Mini Secretariat Complex inaugurated

The Mini Secretariat Complex of Chandel District which was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 35.40 crores under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) 2006 was inaugurated by Chief Minister O.Ibobi Singh here today.
The inaugural function of the most ambitious project in the District was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Mini Secretariat after cutting the ribbon and inspecting the Secretariat building by the Chief Minister.
Dr.Ratankumar Singh, Minister (Works and Transport), Government of Manipur presided over the inaugural function which was also attended by ST.
Nunghlung Victor, MLA of 41 Chandel Assembly constituency and D.Korungthang, MLA of 42 Tengnoupal Assembly constituency as Guests of Honour.
While appreciating the Engineers, Contractors and public for extending co-operation in completing the construction of the mini Secretariat Complex, the Chief Minister said that public co-operation is very important for successful implementation of any development works.
So, every organization should extend cooperation when people welfare programmes are taken up.

Regarding the deplorable condition of Pallel- Chandel road, the Chief Minister said as the repairing work of the District Headquarters road was already handed over to Border Road Task Force, the state government cannot repair it even though it understands the sufferings of the people due to the deplorable road condition.
However, with pressures from the state government for repairing of the road, the Central government has sanctioned Rs.13 crores recently for the same, said the Chief Minister.
Regarding the ongoing construction works of 50 bedded District Hospital and Mini Stadium, the Chief Minister said that instructions have been given to all the contractors and engineers to complete the works latest by December so that it could be handed over to the people of the District as Christmas gift.
During the function, All Tribal Students Union Manipur (ATSUM) led by Emboi Serto and various civil organizations of the District also submitted their respective memorandum to the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister and his team visited the construction sites of the Sports Complex and District Hospital at Chandel Christian village before inaugurating the Mini Secretariat Complex which consists of District Level Officer's Office building, a 550 capacity Multi Purpose Hall, Single and double room transit Hostel, Security Barrack among others.
