State BJP leaders meet Union Ministers

A delegate of BJP Manipur Pradesh led by State President Th Chaoba Singh met Union Minister of Urban Development Poverty Alleviations and Parliamentary Affairs Venkaiya Naidu at his Nirmal Bhavan Office Chamber in New Delhi yesterday at around 5 pm.
Asnikumar Singh, L Bashanta Sharma, State General Secretaries Yanglet Haokip, Natioanal Councillor, Susindro alias Yaima, active Member were part of the delegation, said a press release.
They drew the attention of Union Minister on creation of a new smart city in Manipur under 100 Smart Cities project to be taken up under the new NDA Government.
They also pressed on giving emphasis and sanctioning of maximum funds for urban housing scheme in Manipur for poor people living in urban and municipal areas, and also for creation of modern urban infrastructures.
They also invited the Minister to pay a visit to Imphal.
After a patient hearing of the State delegates, the Union Minister admitted the points presented by the State delegates and assured that he would provide maximum possible assistance to Manipur.
He would pay a visit to Imphal after August 2014, the press release added.

Again at 6.15 pm, the State delegates met Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Youth Affairs, Sports, Skill Development at his office chamber at Shastri Bhavan in New Delhi and highlighted various important issues of Manipur pertaining to sports, youths affairs and unemployment issues.
They pressed on strengthening SAI centres in Manipur as the State is the sports powerhouse of the country, the press release said.
They also discussed with the Minister on the issue of setting up of new sports University in Manipur and its future course of measures.
The Minister assured to do the needful by his Ministry on priority basis and he assured to come in Imphal in mid August.
In the late evening, the State delegates also met key functionaries of BJP.
The State delegates conveyed gratitude to the BJP National leadership particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Arun Jeitely for allocating nearly Rs 58000 crore towards various development projects in NE States.
