CM inaugurates mini secretariat complex

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi today inaugurated the newly cons-tructed Mini Secretariat com- plex of Chandel district, which was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 35.40 crore under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) 2006 .
The inauguration function of one of the most ambitious projects in the district was held at the multi-purpose hall of the Mini Secretariat after cutting ribbon and inspecting the secretariat building by the Chief Minister, who attended the function as chief guest.
Works and Transport Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar, Chandel AC MLA ST Nunghlung Victor and Tengnoupal AC MLA D Korungthang also graced the inaugural function as functional president and guests of honour respectively.
While lauding the engineers, contractors and public for extending co-operation in completing the construction of the Mini Secretariat complex, Chief Minister said that public co-operation is indeed very important for successful implementation of development works.

So, every organization should extend cooperation instead of disturbing it when public welfare programmes are taken up, he added.
Regarding the deplorable Pallel-Chandel road, Chief Minister stated that as the repairing work of the district headquarters road has already been handed over to Border Roads Task Force, the State Government cannot repair it even though it understands the suffering of the people.
However, following State Government's pressure, the Central Government has sanc-tioned Rs 13 crore recently for repairing of the said road, asserted Chief Minister O Ibobi.
Regarding the ongoing construction works of 50-bedded District Hospital and Mini Stadium, the Chief Minister conveyed that instruc- tions have been given to all the contractors and engineers to complete the construction works by December so that it could be handed over to the people of the district as a Christmas gift.
Taking advantage of the Chief Minister's visit, All Tribal Students Union Manipur (ATSUM) led by Emboi Serto and various civil society organizations of the district submitted their respective memoranda to the Chief Minister.
