Private schools sweep the first top 25 positions

Imphal, June 12 2011:
The HSLC exam 2011 results were declared late tonight, and private schools swept the first 25 positions.
34943 students appeared in the exams conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur.
24725 representing 71% cleared the exams.
Out of the 24725 students who cleared the exams, 6759 passed in the first division, 15900 in the second division and 2066 in the third division.
The pass percentage was highest in the last six years since 2005.The pass percentage was 61% last year.
Ningthoujam Rishikanta of St Joseph's School, Sangaiprou is the topper of this year's HSLC exams.
He secured 483 out of 500 marks.
He had letter marks in six subjects.
He is the son of N Manimohon and Memton of Kwakeithel Soibam Leikai.
Keisham Tampha Ibema daughter of K Ibobi Singh and Ibella Devi of Awang Leikinthabi Makha Leikai of Tiny Tot's Unique School, Imphal secured second position.
She secured 480 marks with letter marks in six subjects.
With 477 marks out of 500, Soubam Daniel of St Joseph's School, Sangaiprou stood third position.
He also got letter marks in six subjects.
All the first 25 positions went to private school except the eighth position which Prakash Khundrakpam of government run Keishamthong High School shared with Siddarth Ningthoujam of St Joseph's High School.
