Church building inaugurated

Imphal, June 12 2011:
A new building for Henbung Baptist Church which was established in 1947 was inaugurated today.
The Church building constructed in 10 years and six months at the cost of Rs 85,01,323.95 was dedicated to the people by the first reverend of Kuki community and founder of Kuki Baptist Church Red K Singson.
The inaugural function held at Henbung village was attended by Church leaders, village chiefs and Sadar Hills District Council Members.
Hill Areas Committee Chairman Thangminlen Kipgen was also present at the occasion.
The gathering observed two minutes' silence in memory of 72 people who worked with dedication for the new building but had expired before the building could be completed.
Henbung village chief Haokholet Kipgen said that the new Church building could be constructed because of the unwavering determination and collective strength of the villagers.
