State govt must find a way to end armed conflict in state: Radhabinod

Opposition leader Radhabinod Koijam today made a fervent appeal to the Manipur government to find a way to end the armed conflict in the state asserting that the long persisting conflict has made suffering a lot to the common people.
The armed struggle of the revolutionary groups in the state is long enough that it had suffered all section of the society.
Whether it may be plebiscite or through dialogue, state government must find a way to bring an end to the conflict, the NCP state unit president said in a function held at Ima Khunthonghanbi ground, Thangmeiband.
NCP Thangmeiband committee organized the function as part of week long 13th foundation day programme of the party.
The former chief minister said that like done by the Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi to bring the ULFA to the negotiating table Manipur chief minister should also hunt out a means to solve the insurgency problem for all time.
NCP wants peace and it is a firm commitment of the party to make Manipur a peaceful state.
It will not be possible to solve the conflict in the state by the imposition of Armed Forces (Special) Power Act or by means of arms.
When the armed groups like the NSCN (IM) agreed to hold peace talks with the Centre why should not rebels in Manipur allow holding talks? A way must be found out.
There is no question of supporting on the part of the NCP but the party is determined to bring peace in the state at any cause, Radhabinod said.
Further speaking on the main objective of the party, he said that the party is very concerned about the breaking down of idea of peaceful co-existence among the people of different groups and the party considers that there is a must for a transparent and corruption free government in the state to maintain the faiths among the people.
In his lengthy address, the opposition leader also announced party strategy for the forthcoming Assembly election in the state and appealed to NCP workers to start campaign for the party.
