Woman cop alleged of child abduction

Police are searching for a woman constable and one of her friends who have been alleged of selling out a nine-year old boy from Moirang and selling out him to a hotel in Imphal.
Police registered a case against woman constable, Laishram Indrani Devi (37), a resident of Khurai Lamlong in Imphal east and posted at Moirang PS as traffic control police, and her friend Hemam Bina Devi (40) of Moirang Okshongbung under section of 367 (related with abduction) of IPC.
Moirang PS registered the case following a directive of the Bishnupur CJM to investigate into the case.
Grant mother of the nine-year old, Sorojini Devi, filed the case to the court, a source said.
In the case the petitioner, Sorojini, alleged that her grand son, studying in Class-IV at Konjeng JB School, was taken away by the woman constable who resided at the house at Bina at her neighbour.
Her grand son was missing since March 27 last but when conducted a search it was revealed that he was taken away by the woman constable in collusion with Bina and sold out to a hotel at Kabeisoi in Imphal west.
She (Sorojini) came to know her grand son being employed at the hotel only recently.
The boy was rescued later but the two accused women were still at large.
Police said that they were searching for whereabouts of the woman constable as part of investigation.
