Imphal, August 05 2011:
The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has strongly refuted the claim of Sadar Hills District-hood Demand Committee (SHDDC) that the deceased Yaireiphi Lungleng was a blockade supporter as totally mala fide and untrue.
The SHDDC general secretary Tonghen Kipgen's claim that Yaireiphi (22) was a blockade supporter was a sheer misleading report and a blatant lie to the people, said a press release issued by TKS.
The deceased girl was a student, daughter of Singlei from Tolloi village, Ukhrul district, and studying Damtai Christian College, Motbung.
The girl was in uniform when she was knocked down by a vehicle as she was returning from college.
Saying that the TKS has all the proof that the deceased girl was a student and not a party to SHDDC, it asserted that SHDDC general secretary Tonghen Kipgen would be held solely responsible for any consequence arising from his misleading statement.
The TKS also demanded ex-gratia from the State Government for the deceased girl.
The SHDDC's demand for upgrading Sadar Hills into a full fledged district is totally unjustifiable, it added.
