No secession in ULFA's charter
Source: The Sangai Express
Guwahati, August 05 2011:
The United Liberation of Assam (ULFA) in its charter of demands submitted to Home Minister P Chidambaram in New Delhi on Friday morning dropped its primary demand of secession from India and instead sought solutions within the Constitution.
The Ulfa, however, demanded amendments in the Constitution that would ensure greater power to the State.
"We are not seeking secession from India," Ulfa's foreign secretary Sasadhar Chouhury said after the meeting with the Home Minister.
