Imphal, August 05 2011:
The Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) has urged upon the State Government to seek views and opinions of different communities residing in Sadar Hills before taking any concrete decision regarding the decision raised by the Sadar Hills District-hood Demand Committee (SHDDC) .
Different communities have been living in Sadar Hills since time immemorial and Zeliangrong people have more than 20 villages situated contiguously in Sadar Hills.
Any immature decision or hasty action on the part of the Government has the potential to create confusion and disharmony among different communities in Sadar Hills, the ZYF said in a press release.
It appealed to the State Government not to take any hasty decision for declaration of Sadar Hills but only after proper consultation with other communities for ensuring impartiality, security and safety and welfare of all communities living in Sadar Hills.
The ZYF would oppose any immature decision which may disturb the peaceful atmosphere.
It further appealed to the SHDDC to call off the ongoing general strike in the larger interest of the people.
